From November 28 to 30, the finals of the 2025 China Graduate Student Chip Innovation Competition EDA Elite Challenge were held at Hong Kong Science Park. Since its launch in August, the competition has attracted registrations from 674 graduate teams comprising 1,734 students across 154 domestic and international universities. Following a rigorous selection process, 206 teams advanced to the finals to compete for various awards and honors.

The EDA Elite Challenge is a national-level academic competition and the first professional contest in China dedicated to the EDA field. In the Pango Microsystems track of this competition, 74 teams participated. After intense competition, 23 teams successfully advanced to the finals and won major awards, including two First Prizes, seven Second Prizes, and 14 Third Prizes.

During the Outstanding Works Roadshow session, the team representing Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and South China University of Technology, competing in the Pango Microsystems track, innovatively proposed multiple dual-output LUT mapping strategies. The team conducted systematic optimization in algorithm design, dynamic programming enhancement, and evaluation mechanisms, achieving improvements in both logic optimization and merging efficiency. Their work provided novel insights and practical solutions for FPGA technology mapping, distinguishing them among numerous outstanding participants and earning them the prestigious Elite Cup at the EDA Elite Challenge Finals. Selected from First Prize winners across all tracks in the finals, the Elite Cup represents the highest standard of achievement among participating teams.

During the finals, Hong Kong Science Park concurrently hosted a series of activities, including lectures on cutting-edge EDA technologies, technical standards seminars, and educational tours. Feng Zhanpeng, Principal Engineer at Pango Microsystems, delivered a presentation titled "Innovation in FPGA Design: The Intelligent Evolution of EDA Tools," providing an in-depth analysis of the challenges facing EDA tools in the FPGA sector and new directions driven by heterogeneous computing. Currently, Pango Microsystems' independently developed EDA tools have achieved breakthroughs in core technologies for comprehensive large-scale FPGA software suites, covering key functional modules such as synthesis and place-and-route. The company has established a complete PDS+ADS+EDK software toolchain that effectively meets the application requirements of leading equipment manufacturers in key sectors, including communication networks, imaging and video, industrial control, power grids, rail transit, and data centers, thereby facilitating digital transformation.

EDA serves as critical infrastructure for the integrated circuit industry. Pango Microsystems will leverage the EDA Elite Challenge as an opportunity to continuously strengthen in-depth cooperation with universities, promoting education, research, and industrial development through competitions.
