Recently, the Global 6G Technology and Industry Ecosystem Conference (hereinafter referred to as the "Global 6G Technology Conference") was held in Nanjing. UNISOC was invited to attend the parallel forum on "Space-Air-Ground Integration and Digital Low-Altitude Economy," where it shared its innovative concepts in cutting-edge 6G technologies and its R&D progress in space-air-ground integration, covering aspects such as 6G communications, sensing, and positioning.

The Global 6G Technology Conference is a comprehensive international conference with broad coverage in the 6G field. This year's conference, themed "Building Innovation Together, Sharing the Future," focused on frontier topics including the 6G vision and key technologies, security and trustworthiness, and green sustainable development. It brought together 24 domestic and international enterprises along with over 100 representatives from renowned universities and research institutions worldwide to discuss how to foster industry-wide consensus on 6G standards.

6G Enters a Critical Phase: Exploring New Low-Altitude Flight Scenarios

This year's Government Work Report identified 6G as a key area for cultivating emerging industries of the future, signaling strong national support for the advancement of 6G technology. The industry widely recognizes that 6G will not only deliver higher data rates and lower latency but also reshape the digital landscape of the economy and society through cross-industry and cross-technology integration, propelling society from the "Internet of Everything" toward the "Intelligent Internet of Everything."

Ubiquitous connectivity (space-air-ground integration) has been identified by the ITU as one of the core 6G usage scenarios. As a vital driver in building space-air-ground integrated networks, satellite communication offers the advantage of extensive coverage, significantly expanding the service areas of terrestrial cellular networks. Furthermore, low-altitude flight systems constitute an essential component of space-air-ground integrated networks and are poised to become one of the most promising core applications of 6G.

UNISOC Empowers 6G Space-Air-Ground Integration with Chip Technology

UNISOC initiated pre-research on core 6G technologies at an early stage and has actively participated in tackling key technological challenges and standardization efforts. The company has completed the definition of a 6G terminal prototype platform tailored for terminal chip R&D and has conducted in-depth research in areas such as communication-sensing integration, communication-intelligence integration, and space-ground integration, achieving a series of significant results.

In the field of space-air-ground integration, guided by the innovative philosophy of "complementary advantages and integrated symbiosis," UNISOC is actively promoting the formation of an integrated system comprising NTN and TN to achieve seamless global coverage and provide users with continuous and stable 6G services.

UNISOC has successfully developed China's first NTN SoC chip supporting low-earth orbit satellite communication—V8821. The company completed the world's first in-orbit verification of real-time voice communication via IoT NTN between a mobile phone and a high-orbit satellite, and successfully facilitated the establishment of a 3GPP IoT NTN voice standard project. It also completed laboratory simulation verification and network equipment interconnection testing for NR NTN low-earth orbit satellites, validating the technical feasibility of applying 5G NTN to direct-to-satellite mobile connectivity. Additionally, satellite IoT buoys equipped with UNISOC chips can accurately collect key indicators such as water quality and temperature, providing a scientific basis for environmental governance and disaster early warning.

New Unigroup, New UNISOC, New Journey, New Future. As a globally leading chip design enterprise, UNISOC upholds the Values of "Professionalism, Win-Win Collaboration, and Dedication." The company continues to deepen technological innovation and actively explore frontier fields, striving to make greater contributions to 6G, create value for the digital economy and future industries, and build a better world through chip technology.
